An extensive two-month voyage circling the Australian Coast was terminated days after the fatal incident of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The ship sailed away leaving her and returned later that day after the personnel became aware the lady was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation found her body the subsequent day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the event, together with police and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the cruise operator said that travelers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were told that the rest of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and earlier mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he further stated that travelers would be provided a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

Officials also issued an latest statement, and said they had "issued a notice to the Master" preventing any additional guests from entering the ship.

The representative said that they would inspect the ship in the Australian city upon its arrival.
