“It was regrettable. That was kind of an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the signal was entirely accidental, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just showed the wrong finger,” he remarked. “The action was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected rapidly.”
